We’re excited to welcome Felix Lau to Pavilion as Talent Acquisition Lead! Before joining Pavilion, Felix was a full-cycle recruiter at Pinterest and Tubi. Felix is a Bay Area native, an adventurous foodie, and a soon-to-be dog-dad.

Why Pavilion?

When people think about government, they don’t often think of a well-oiled machine. Many businesses stay far away from the public sector, which limits competition and makes innovation within government even harder. That’s what excites me about Pavilion! Not only is the platform free for governments, we're tackling one of the main challenges that governments face: public procurement.

What’s something you’re not good at, but working on?

I’m a terrible chef, but my love of food is bar none. Over the last 2 years, I’ve been actively working to improve my skills in this area by trying to find simple recipes online to try. The problem is finding the motivation to cook. The Bay Area is filled with top notch restaurants and it is always exciting to try a new place to eat. Luckily, I know I can’t be the only one facing this problem!

What do you like to do when you're not working?

I love going on hikes and walks, exploring new places I have never been, and being in nature. I try to stay pretty active when I’m not working to counter sitting in front of my laptop everyday for work. That being said, I also love watching movies and playing video games, too. I think it really depends on my mood for that day!

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, who would it be and why?

There are a couple of people on my list, but I’d have to go with Ray Dalio. His book Principles was probably one of the most memorable and interesting books I’ve ever read. He is also one of the most successful hedge-fund managers of all time, so it would be really interesting to pick his brain on how he achieved that!
